I'm in the process of becoming the best version of myself.
My Professional Journey
I was just a teenager when I stepped into the world of films and advertising, I’ve worn many hats since—model, actress, columnist, reality show participant, talk show host, entrepreneur, life coach… Each chapter, a universe unto itself. Each experience, a stepping stone to the next.
Lights, Camera, Action!
My foray into the entertainment industry began with the magic of cinema, iconic Marily Monroe-isque moments with my red dress flying atop a car in Pehla Nash and the vibrant world of advertising. The camera didn’t just capture me—it revealed me. Whether it was walking into homes through iconic commercials for brands like Lux, Kaya, or being the face of the award winning, headline hitting Kamasutra campaign, I found joy in storytelling—through every expression, every frame.
I became a familiar face on screen, touted as the sex symbol of the country in the late 80’s. but more than fame, it was the connection with audiences, the love shown for each role, and the impact I created though media on opening people’s mindsets, the change I got to be at the forefront of, that moved me. Media sharpened my presence, films widened my fan base—and both gave me the platform to explore the power of influence and voice.
Pen, Power & Perspective
As a columnist for 18 years with the Times of India, I found yet another avenue for expression- I poured my unfiltered thoughts onto paper, questioning norms, tackling taboos—sexuality, relationships, societal hypocrisy—with candor and wit.
“Heart Chakra,” wasn’t just ink on newsprint; it was a rebellion against the “acceptable.” I wrote for the woman stifled by patriarchy, the teenager grappling with self-doubt, the reader hungry for honesty in a sea of pretense.
Letters poured in. Strangers shared secrets, confessing, “You articulated what I couldn’t say.” That’s when I realized the power of vulnerability. My pen became a bridge, connecting readers with new understandings and to give them strength, options and alternate perspectives. It was focused on being provocative, insightful—and it was always about being authentic.
Reality, Unfiltered
I’ve always loved showing up as myself—and reality TV gave me that raw, unfiltered canvas. Whether it was the daredevil on Khatron Ke Khiladi (india’s fear factor), a lab rat in Bigg Boss 5, making two left feet dance on Nach Baliye, or sharing my journey as a mother on Maa Exchange, I embraced these experiences not as “roles to play,” but as extensions of who I am. They challenged me, exposed me, and yet, strengthened my resolve to live transparently and unapologetically.
Host With a Heart
Talk shows like Just Pooja allowed me to explore the power of conversations. Real people. Real stories. Real emotions. I found purpose in asking tough questions, offering empathy, and holding space for the spectrum of human experience. It reaffirmed my belief that vulnerability is strength, and that truth—when shared—can be transformational.
Happy Soul, Happy Me
Over time, my journey has evolved from performance to purpose. As the Founder of Happy Soul and Managing Director of Magicians of Wellness India Pvt Ltd and Merchants of Wellness India Pvt Ltd, I’ve channelled decades of learning, experience, certifications and personal transformation into creating a holistic wellness platform, a coaching platform, wellness homes and wellness experiences. Spaces where people can heal, grow, and thrive—mind, body, and spirit.
Happy Soul isn’t just a brand—it’s a philosophy. It’s the culmination of all I’ve lived, questioned, believed in, and studied. A fusion of ancient wisdom, modern therapies, and intuitive insight. From online courses, offline retreats, certified workshops to a curated wellness marketplace—it’s a sanctuary for seekers. Just like I once was. Just like we all are.
